How many rooms do we have in our house? What do we do in each of them?

We use there is for singular and there are for plural:   

• There is (there's) a student in the classroom. 
• There are many students in the classroom.

• There is not (there isn't) a car in the parking.
• There isn't any water in the fridge.
• There are not (there aren't) two cars in the parking.
• There aren't any cars in the parking.

• Is there a book in the shelf? Yes, there is.
• Is there any water in the fridge? No, there isn't.
• Are there four pencils on the desk? Yes, there are.
• Are there any pencils on the desk? No, there aren't.

9. Els exàmens.

11 de desembre.

"Estic d'exàmens fins al capdamunt. Els profes s'han tornat bojos, tots diuen que la seva assignatura és primordial i tos ens posen exàmens alhora. I jo, a més, vaig cada dia a ca la Montse. Està una mica més animada, i diu, que sí, que torna a haver-hi esperances, perquè els resultats no són definitius, però, això sí, contradictoris..."

M'ha passat una cosa increïble. Estic tan adolorida i tan trista que fins i tot em trobo malalta. Aquest matí, surto de l'aula després de la classe de bio, i la profa, que és la nostra tutora, coincideix amb mi al passadís, i va i em diu: "Pobra Montse! Tu que ets tan bona amiga d'ella, mira d'animar-la." I jo: "Sí, ja ho faig". "És que l'he vista tan desmillorada...".

Explica com reacciona Raquel quan s'entera que la seua amiga Montse està a Barcelona i no l'ha telefonada. Té raó en actuar així? Tanmateix va a veure-la. Què et sembla?
